I really really like this post. All nice things to you in the coming week.
How did you like the Aviation? Did you happen to notice what kind of gin they used? Also: there's a great Rivera mural at the SF Art Institute and a lot of murals around town by artists influenced by him–30's people in Coit Tower and the old Rincon Annex Post Office, and more recent creators at many sites in the Mission District including this one:http://www.balmyalley.com/Welcome.html
Thanks! I should have taken more pictures, but alas only the first one is original.
I … sort of liked it. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but then I wasn't sure what to expect. It certainly did remind me of the moth outfit, though.SF is still my favorite west coast city, hands down.
The Aviation you pictured looks a little different from the one I make, with the Creme de Violette. (The ones at Locanda restaurant in the Mission, our current heartthrob, are different too.) The recipe I follow is the one my friend gave me–Bombay Sapphire, and a quarter-ounce of the Violette for a pale lavender color and faint floral aroma. So what you need to do is get down here for a comparative Aviation testing. Favas are already here and asparagus won't be far behind–I'm about to email you something further on that subject.
It would be so keen to see some frida and diego. And singing Mormons, of course!
